Liberal Democrats in Swindon have selected two highly experienced campaigners to stand for the party in Swindon at the General Election. At their selection meeting last Thursday, the party gave their overwhelming support to Damon Hooton (South Swindon ) and Jane Lock (North Swindon).

Lib Dem President supports local campaigner in Old Town

Lib Dem President Baroness Ros Scott gave her keen support to the Swindon Lib Dems on her recent visit to Old Town. Hosted by Shirley Burnham, local campaigner and newly selected council candidate for the Lib Dems, Baroness Scott visited the Old Town Library and local businesses during her time in the area. Liberal Democrat Councillors last night won the chance for the people of Swindon to choose whether or not they have a canal through the town as part of the redevelopment plans. The Conservative-led council's controversial £69 million project will be the subject of a local referendum after the vote on a Lib Dem proposal at the council meeting last night.
