Liberal Democrats: A Vision for Swindon

University Campus for Town Centre

11.30.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 14th Sep 2007

"THE University Of The West Of England plans to build a campus in the town - with North Star being the most likely location." according to the Swindon Advertiser.

Lib Dem Leader Councillor Stan Pajak (Eastcott) commented:

"We welcome the news that the University campus will be located in town centre. The Lib Dems have long campaigned for a University campus to be located in town, whilst the Conservative Council and Labour government have seemed determined to bulldoze Coate to make way for a campus.

"The important thing now is to make sure that the campus is the best if can be for Swindon."
